Speaker 1:

What's up guys? Dj ESG Honest Wedding Advice, season number eight. And today I'm talking about songs that get white girls turned up at the wedding vocally, not twerking, not bouncing up and down, but verbally singing, belting out tunes at the wedding. And I just got 10 of them. Two of them, I think, can kind of be looped in together, so there's really nine of them down here. But these are songs that I'll play at any wedding and do you know? Pretty much the white girls, but any girl really will go off. But these are more white girl anthems, if you know what I mean. I'll play them and they'll go crazy and singing and yelling and dancing and jumping up and down.

Speaker 1:

All right, no particular order here, just so you know. So the first one is a disco classic that's guaranteed to get everybody up and that's dancing queen by abba. If you can't get up to dancing queen man, you got a problem. Uptown funk by bruno mars or mark ronson it's not a female song, but it's an anthem with a killer groove man. It's like got michael jackson written all over it, toxic by britney spears. I mean, who doesn't love britney spears? There's multiple ways of loving britney spears. You can either love her for who she is. You can love her because she's crazy. You can love her crazy or you can just love her. The fact that she was the original. After Madonna, there was nobody like Britney Spears. And Toxic is one of those anthems that you can sing and dance to and it is dope.

Speaker 1:

Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. Some people call her a one-hit wonder. I know she's got a couple other songs, but this was the theme. Like this was the one that got everybody up out of their seats. Can't Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake. Yeah, it's a little bit outplayed at some of these events, kind of like Uptown Funk, but I'll tell you this, it always gets people up. People don't sit down to that song, and I mean people from all ages. Firework by Katy Perry. Who doesn't love Katy Perry? I hate to say this in line with Luke, but she's the star of American Idol. Without her and her band that plays behind everybody. I mean she's it and that song is just money to any age group, from like 12 all the way up to like 60.

Speaker 1:

People love that song, sort of like we Found Love by Rihanna. We Found Love is an awesome tune. I mean it sort of goes with the wedding, if you know what I mean. Like we found love in a hopeless place. Half the people I meet found love on OkCupid or some dating site. So you know, I seem to think that's a hopeless place. I would never do that. But you know, some people find people in college or other spots. But if you found somebody on a dating app, man, that song's perfect.

Speaker 1:

Shake it Off by Taylor Swift and her whole new anthology album is fantastic. But she's got like 25, 30 songs that'll go over at a wedding, shake it Off being the one with that. You know third, fourth verse. You know cut out where she starts chanting and everybody knows the words. I mean, if you turn that off before she gets to that point, man, you'll get shit heaved at you as a DJ Start throwing bottles at you, like leave that on.

Speaker 1:

And then there's two songs by Ariana Grande. One's called Into you and one's called Problem, featuring Iggy Azalea. I always played those songs and people just get up. You know they're like yo, I love that shit. Like that's my jam. You know it used to be. You know Lizzo and Cardi B and Nicki. But I mean Ariana Grande is pretty much taken off with, like Dua Lipa. She's taken off. Everything she touches turns to gold. So there's just a lot of stuff out there that you can play that doesn't have to be like old as dirt, like Neil Diamond, you know, and Journey and that kind of jazz for people to get up and dance to. It doesn't have to be complete total rap music where they're cursing, dropping the F-bomb, the N-word I'll never drop that at a wedding, but just FYI. These are some cool songs that you can put on your song list to get people up. Another one, unwritten by Natasha Bedenfield, a cool-ass track that people love to sing along to. So just remember that it's great advice.
