- In a world where weddings are both chaos and perfection, DJ ESG—aka Eric Scott Gold—emerges as the wise-cracking, truth-dropping, mic-spinning legend the Philadelphia Tri-State area never knew it needed. Armed with nearly 175 thousand streams across 15 separate platforms, he’s the proud host of the region's number one wedding podcast, where advice flows freely—sometimes for couples, sometimes for vendors, and always delivered with the subtlety of a confetti cannon.
DJ ESG is not your average private event DJ; he’s a walking wedding encyclopedia with a sarcasm filter permanently set to "off." Millennials and Gen Z? He sees you. He knows your flea-sized attention spans. That’s why his micro tips are short, snappy, and unfiltered, served with a heaping side of "you're welcome."
The accolades? Oh, they’re endless. Seven-time "International Mobile Entertainer of the Year" finalist. Multi-time "Best Of" winner in Philadelphia, San Diego, AND Bucks County. The nation’s loudest, proudest LGBTQ wedding advocate, and the first to hoist the Pride flags at the International DJ Expo like the hero weddings never knew they needed. Oh, and did we mention he’s officiated over 200 weddings? Including 50+ same-sex unions? Or that he had the honor of MCing THE Jason Kelce wedding with his buddy Bob on the decks? Yeah. #GoBirds indeed.
So, buckle up for DJ ESG's wedding wisdom—raw, real, and straight from the heart. Peace, Love, and God Above!

What's up, guys? Dj ESG, honest wedding advice, season number 12, and I got something so super fucking cool today. You are going to love this. So those glow wands right, the ones you get on Amazon in packs of 50 that feel like foam and they light up inside? Well, I did a survey with all the bride and grooms that I worked with in the last like like I don't know a year, and I asked probably 75 of them and I got 20 of them responded and I said listen, do you think that those glow wands made a difference on your dance floor? And 18 of them out of 20 said yes. And that was because, honest to God, there's a lot of people out there that don't know what to do with their hands when they're dancing. You know, they don't know if they want to do this or they want to do this, or are their hands in their pockets or they don't know what to do. So those glow wands when they were holding those wands and they were like okay, they had something to do with their hands, and people that wouldn't usually dance stayed out there on the dance floor for like a long period of time.
Speaker 0:And I remember saying to one of the brides I said, listen, I said you know, because it was like her uncle. And she said her uncle's never gonna dance and it was her mom's brother and he's just not a dancer. So I, she, she gave me his number. I was like, all right, I'm gonna call this dude because. And then I was like let him know, I'm calling first because I have to ask questions like I want to know from the source. And he said he never dances at weddings. He never dances, period. But he said that he felt like he was able to let loose and let free because he didn't have the restrictions of not knowing what to do with his hands, which I thought was amazing. I was like yo, I I knew that was a possibility and I I knew that was sort of why people flock to holding things, because it's easier for them and it's less awkward. But he was like no, I stayed out there for like 10 songs because I was able to do stuff and I didn't feel uncomfortable, I didn't feel awkward. So I was like yo, for an additional $100 to go out and buy these foam wands you get on Amazon. You know, I was like, and it made the party, it was great pictures, it made the dance floor pop and people that don't usually dance got out there and dance. I thought it was amazing. I thought it was so super, fucking cool. So every bride that I work with now'm like yo, listen, get them. You know, get the glow wands, go to the store, get the glow wands.
Speaker 0:Now, once in a blue moon, I'll be talking to a bride and groom who have other issues, like nervousness, or somebody on the family has passed away, or you know they're introverts and I'm like, okay, you know I don't go there, you know I just sort of leave it alone. But most of the time, if I know that I have a couple that I can talk them into doing this, I will talk them into doing this because I know what it does to a party. You know it's like what lighting does to a party. It makes the room, it gives the room a vibe. You know what serving buffet or family style does and it speeds up everything.
Speaker 0:There's so much that you could do to help out your wedding and help out your guests and make that dance floor pop. Turning down the lights it takes people that are, you know, afraid or you know, don't feel like they want to be watched, and gives them more of a reason to go out on a dance floor. So there's so many different things you can do, but this is simple, easy, cheap and to the point. I'm telling you it works. 30 plus years of experience. Honest wedding advice.
